    Summary

    Since 1984, area residents have been turning to the Community Foundation of Grant County, Indiana to make their philanthropic giving as impactful as possible. The foundation is a public charity serving thousands of people who share a common concern—improving the quality of life in Grant County. To do this, individuals, families, businesses, and organizations create endowed charitable funds that help the area meet the challenges of changing times. The Foundation invests and administers these funds.  The foundation then use the distributions to award grants each year to the humanitarian, educational, and cultural organizations in the county they call home.

    Additional Information

    Although the foundation expects to remain flexible in their grant-making decisions, the Community Foundation traditionally addresses needs that fall into the categories of Health, Education, Human Services, Community Development, and General Fields of Interest. Grant Proposals written in collaboration with community partners are both encouraged and appreciated.

    The foundation will not fund:

    • Political activity
    • Profit making enterprises
    • Projects/programs that benefit a specific church
    • Any organization with an outstanding grant report due to the Community Foundation from a previous grant

  • Eligibility Details

    Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, coalitions, community associations, and other civic groups may apply if it provides services in Grant County, Indiana. To be eligible for a specific grant, the project must be located in, or directly serve the people and natural resources in Grant County, Indiana and meet all other criteria in the specific grant's guidelines and application.

    Deadline Details

    Designated Grant Cycle does not require an application. Spendable distributions for specific organizations are mailed January 2023.

    Third Path Cohort Implementation Grant Cycle for current recipients opens January 13, 2024 and closes February 17, 2023.

    Give to Grant Cycle applications for new applicants requesting between $2,500-$10,000 open April 3, 2023 and are due May 28, 2023.

    Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program Grant Cycle for a Grant County HS graduate open August 1, 2023 and close September 24, 2023.

    CAPE Grant Cycle for Grant County, Indiana organizations that provide career exploration experiences, career guidance and counseling, and workplace internships and job shadows open September 1, 2023 and close October 22, 2023.

    Scholarship Grant Cycle for Grant County residents pursing higher education open November 1, 2023 and close December 31, 2023.
