The Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant program defrays start-up costs associated with the development of career and technical education programs to public community and technical colleges, and independent school districts. Formerly under the direction of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, oversight of the state-funded program is now coordinated by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
The JET program provides grants to eligible entities to purchase and install equipment necessary for the development of career and technical education (CTE) courses or programs that lead to a license, certificate or post-secondary degree in a high-demand occupation.

Applications for Community or technical colleges were to be submitted by April 28, 2022. Applications for Texas ISDs, Charter Schools, and Windham School District were to be submitted by June 9, 2022.
The JET program was allocated $15 million in funding to provide grants for public junior, technical, and state colleges. And approximately $50 million for the FY22-23 biennium to provide grants to TX ISDs and open-enrollment charter schools entered into a partnership with a public junior, technical, and state college; and the Windham School District.
