    Summary

    The General Assembly has continued state funding to update career and technical education (CTE) resources and equipment to industry standards. The appropriation provides for competitive, innovative program equipment grants for high-demand and fast-growth industry sectors based on data from the Virginia Office of Education Economics (VOEE).

    Additional Information

    Priority will be given to state-identified challenged schools, the Governor's Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Academies and the Governor's Health Sciences Academies. The completed application should not exceed five pages— consisting of contact information, an abstract (not to exceed two pages), proposed budget, and the signed statement of assurance.

    Eligible applicants are Virginia technical high schools.

    Deadline Details

    Applications were to be submitted by March 7, 2025. A similar deadline is anticipated annually.

    Award Details

    Approximately $600,000 is available in funding. Sixteen grants of up to $37,500 will be awarded.
