Alternative education schools as designated by the Oklahoma State Department of Education are eligible for three grants each school year for arts education programming. Arts education programming involving disciplines such as dance, literary arts, media arts, music, storytelling, theater, traditional, and visual arts. Programs must assess student learning are all eligible for funding. Fees for arts instruction, teaching resource materials, and project supplies may be paid for using this grant.

The cost of supplies cannot exceed 25% of the total project cost. Funds cannot be used for equipment, computers, software, cameras and/or other arts related hardware; food or beverages; awards such as ribbons, trophies and plaques; travel for students (including field trips); or as a substitution for regularly budgeted funds.
Schools designated by the Oklahoma State Department of Education as Alternative Education Schools are eligible to apply.
Applications are to be submitted at least 30 days prior to the start of a project.
Awards may be up to $2,500. Cost matching of at least 5% of the total project budget is required.
